Sabato De Sarno, who took over after Alessandro Michelle as the new creative director of Gucci, recently gave us a sneak peek into a jewelry campaign on his own Instagram handle. The campaign features Daria Werbowy wearing bold, oversized earrings and stylish black bikini briefs.
Gucci, the major moneymaker for the luxury conglomerate Kering, was under investors scrutiny for its missing revenue estimates consecutively since the pandemic. Gucci blamed the strict covid regulations in China for its underperformance. It was earlier offsetted by aspirational consumers in the US. But now, the aspirational consumer in the US is pulling back. However, things are looking up in China as people start spending again.
Now, with the change in creative direction under Sabato De Sarno, Gucci aims to boost its revenue from $10 billion to $15 billion. It's an exciting time as Sabato's first collection for Gucci, is set to be revealed in September.
